A timid Midwestern fitness instructor seeks a fresh start in Los Angeles, only to fall prey to a Hollywood Boulevard grifter who pulls him into a tragicomic romp through the shadows of the American Dream.

Synopsis

Arriving in Los Angeles in search of reinvention, a mild-mannered personal trainer with superhero good looks is duped into partnering with a Hollywood Boulevard grifter. The hapless pair’s desperate attempts to untangle a shadowy conspiracy escalate in all the wrong ways. A fast-paced, darkly comic tragedy about male friendship, ambition, and the wreckage of a Hollywood reinvention.

Director

Los Angeles-based filmmaker, actor, and writer Caleb Alexander Smith made his solo directorial debut with Forelock, drawing on years of being mistaken on Hollywood Boulevard for a superhero franchise star. Acting credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, NCIS, and Modern Family.
